Another Gold award for Phantoms or Physics!

A project based on the Science on Stage joint project “Phantoms or Physics” presented at the schools science conference in Algeciras , Spain, has  won 1st prize in the 16+ category, last 5th of June. Pupils presented the ideas and explained the physics behind them with great enthsuiasm and clarity. “It’s not magic , it’s physics you just don’t see!” The project will be presented at the international Science on Stage festival in Debrecen on Saturday, 1 July 9:00-9:20 in our Great Hall by Nuria Molina and Silvio Rademaker.

First prize for project Phantoms or Physics!

On Friday 3rd of June 2016 the project Phantoms or Physics entered a well-attended research competition and won the first prize! The competition: IV Certamen Jóvenes Investigadores in Algeciras.

For this occasion the pupils of the Colegio La Inmaculada in Algeciras, Spain researched and recreated so called “supernatural” events and explained to an audience the underlying physics principles. Their presentation was enthusiastic, comprehensible and rich with practical demonstrations. Because of this the audience received a “Phantastic” presentation with a high information and also entertainment value. Well done! The warmest congratulations from your partner school the Amadeus Lyceum in Utrecht. Keep up the great work!

Phantoms or Physics is a secondary school project developed in collaboration between the schools La Inmaculada Algeciras (Spain) and Amadeus Lyceum Utrecht (The Netherlandsalgeciras utrecht).

The project was initiated at the Science on Stage Festival in London 2015 and will be continued on the oncoming festival in Debrecen, Hungary.

Be sure to visit our on stage presentation or our stand in the exposition! Our phantoms will love to spook the physicss out of you!

The goal of the project is to enthuse pupils to learn physics by investigating and reproducing “amazing” occurrences categorized as “spooky” or the devious work of phantoms.
